Tallywackers coming to Brownsville

hootersbrownsville

The hooters that once stood in Brownsville.

Does anyone remember not to long ago when Hooters  was around? We used to love going there and enjoying some nice hot wings and the occasional brew or two.  In 2009 it closed its doors for good due to the economy slump that we were experiencing shortly after President Obama came into office with all the layoffs and the government bail outs.   Just recently in Dallas, TX a Tallerwackers opened up.  Basically it is a hooters style restaurant catered for the women audience and perhaps unofficially to homosexual men.  We ask ourselves if this is something that Brownsville should have and in our opinion we don’t think it is a bad idea and in reality, any business is good business.  Our city needs diversity and if we are to catch up to the likes of McAllen, we need to have an open mind to such restaurants coming into town. There is a Spanish saying that goes “En gustos, se rompen generos” which translates to “there is something for everybody. ”
