Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.  -Exodus 20:12.

Many of us may be fortunate to have our fathers till this day, for a few others, our fathers may have passed away. There might be a few of us who may have a father but have little or no contact with them for no reason.  Perhaps even less so, might be those who never knew their father and do not know whether they alive or not.  Whatever the case may be, today is Father’s day. Father’s day is celebrated in many nations on the third Sunday of every June.  I would like to tell everyone that no matter what situation your in, celebrate Father’s day.   Some of us may have an estranged relationship with our father that we may have hold a grudge and think twice in calling or seeing him.  But wouldn’t you wish that you could have a relationship with your father? Sure maybe he did some bad things in his past that separated the both of you and maybe did some things to your mother that hurt you but don’t you think it’s time to move on and be the bigger person and forgive him? Don’t be thinking “Well, he never calls me”. Forget about all that.  You should cherish these moments that are still available because every year that passes that means also your dad gets older and nobody is getting young so you never know.  They are millions of people out there in the world who never met their father, so if you have one and know where he is, there shouldn’t be any reason to contact him and take five minutes out of your life and just talk to him. You never know, maybe that estranged relationship that you have with your father all these years just took a simple phone call to make amends.

Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, para que tus días sean prolongados en la tierra que el Señor tu Dios te da. – Exodo 20:12

Muchos de nosotros somos fortunados de tener nuestros padres, para otros, nuestros padres fallecieron.  Hay unos pocos que quizas tienen un padre pero tienen poco o quizas casi nada de comunicacion con ellos por razones personales.  Y tambien alomejor, hay unos que nunca conocieron sus padres y no saben si estan vivo o muerto. No importa que caso sera el tuyo, lo importante es que el dia de hoy es el dia del padre. Se celebra cada tercer Domingo de Junio en varias partes del mundo.  Me gustaria decirles a todos que no importa que situacion tengas con tu papa, celebra el dia. Muchos tenemos una relacion con nuestro padre que esta distanciada y guardamos rincor y aveces pensamos dos veces en hablarle.  No  te gustaria que tu relacion con el mejore? Puede ser que hizo cosas malas en su pasado que los separaron a ustedes o le hizo daño a tu madre. No piensas que ya es tiempo para seguir adelante y ser la persona grande y perdonarlo? No estes pensando “Pues, el nunca me habla”, olvida todo eso.  Debes de apreciar estos momentos que aun estan disponibles porque cada año que pasa tambien significa que tu papa se envejiece tambien y nadie se esta haciendo joven asi que nunca sabes.  Hay millones de personas en el mundo que nunca conocieron su papa, pero si tu tienes uno y sabes donde esta, no debe ver razon que tomes cinco minutos de tu tiempo y que le marques y hablar con el.  Nunca sabes si esa relacion distanciada que tienes con el solo tomo simplemente una llamada para comenzar la reparacion.
