Turns out in a Costa Rican prison , a pigeon was caught carrying 14 grams of cocaine with a smaller pouch of marijuana. The pigeon was caught by a guard after being noticed it was in an area where prisoners gather for recreation.  I’ve actually heard of pigeons used previously in World War 2 to carry notes from different battlefields but it looks like people will always find a way to an exploit an animal and use it for the wrong reasons.  The Costa Rican Justice Ministry later  took the bird an animal refuge and placed inside a cage of its own with a 24/7 camera to make sure it doesn’t escape.  This leads to a bigger question, why did the US spend millions of dollars putting a border wall to secure it’s borders when you can get drugs smuggled across anyway with little effort?.  Even climbing the fence only sets you back about 30 seconds as seen by these women in the video I found on youtube.
