Argentina vs Mexico

It was supposed to be an easy match for the #1 ranked team in FIFA to defeat the Mexican National Team at the AT&T Stadium (Home of the Cowboys) in Dallas,TX.   I was watching the game with my wife and had told her that Mexico would actually play very well against Argentina.  In the first half, first 15 minutes Argentina had most of the possesion,  but Mexico lead the game 1-0 after a break away run from Raul Jimenez lead to a penalty after being fouled by Nicolas Otamendi getting clipped in the box. The penalty was scored by Javier “Chicharito Hernandez who shot it very close to the right post with little room for the Argentinian Goalkeeper to make a stop.  The 2nd half, Mexico was playing even better with very close chances to score a second goal.  The break away goal for Mexico came in the 70th minute after a good cross from Layun down the left flank left Hector Herrera open and scored the goal.  You would think that the Argentinian coach being down 2-0, he would make immediate changes but waited some more.  At the 75th minute the substitutions finally came, changing 4 total players, Aguero for Tevez, and Lavezzi for Angel Correa.  I was telling my wife that the coach should of made these changes at the 60th minute mark.  The changes proved to be vital as Messi fooled a few players near the half way line and made an unbelievable pass towards Lavezzi, the goalkeeper came out really early and made a mistake which let Lavezzi pass towards Kun Aguero who was wide open for their first goal.  Argentina started pressing and Messi got more confident and seemed to play more aggressive and ultimately a killer pass by Kun Aguero to Messi sealed the deal to get the tie.  Mexico is a good team, for some reason they always play their best against the likes of Argentina and Brazil but when they play the US, and other teams, they get scared or something.   The next match for Mexico will be against the United States to decide who goes to the Confederations Cup in Russia in 2017.  Watch the highlights below.
