Grito de Dolores, Viva Mexico Cabrones!

205 years ago, in what is now known as Dolores Hidalgo in Mexico, a priest by the named of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla went with his brother and Ignacio Allende into town and released about 80 prisoners. He ordered the church bells to be rung to make a statement.

¡Mexicanos!
¡Vivan los héroes que nos dieron patria!
¡Viva Hidalgo!
¡Viva Morelos!
¡Viva Josefa Ortíz de Dominguez!
¡Viva Allende!
¡Vivan Aldama y Matamoros!
¡Viva la Independencia Nacional!
¡Viva México! ¡Viva México! ¡Viva México!

This wasn’t the end of the revolution but if not the final nail in the coffin to have people stand up against the oppressors in what was a 11 year war to achieve independence from Spain. Independence finally came on September 27, 1821

With everything that has been happening in Mexico over the last few years with the drug cartels (Chapo Guzman, Los Zetas..etc), corruption at the highest levels of government, is this what the Mexican revolutionary heroes envisioned? I don’t know if its just wishful thinking but I think Mexico can return to it’s old glorious self because it’s a beautiful country.
