All throughout Cameron County, people were flocking to their nearest election poll and casting their vote. With the Presidential Democratic Candidate Primaries between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, it may be very possible we may see an all time voting record compared to the years before. I believe that whoever wins the Democratic Presidential Nominee will go and become the next President of the United States, I don’t think whoever wins on the Republican side has a solid chance of facing either Bernie or Hillary… especially if its Donald Trump. I have to kind of admit though that even though I don’t like Bernie Sanders since he wants to give away everything for free, he has a strong following and a lot of millennials are taking notice and rooting for him.
Meanwhile locally in Cameron County, Amber Medina who is the current Democratic County Chair is going around the city making sure her people are well taken cared of with food, beverages and anything else they need to keep the campaign running. When you actually live in the city and county you campaign for, people are going to notice you and take note and if they have any questions, they can ask you in person and displace any rumors. Meanwhile…..

Erasmo Castro who lives in Austin and is currently sad that he’s banned from his own page has created another facebook account (his 10th one) and posted this video earlier where he is clearly seen somewhere in Austin stuck in traffic talks about not caring whatever the outcome is… whatever happened to the popular slogan from last year? “In it to win it” What still continues to baffle me is why he deliberately seeks a public position for Brownsville or Cameron County when he doesn’t even live there. Well he was nowhere to be seen today for obvious reasons and not even his own supporters seemed to want to give a helping hand. When you run for public office you have to lead by example and if you’re not anywhere to be seen, how can you lead others?
Eddie Treviño who is running for County Judge was out there today with his constituents and I’m pretty sure he lives in Brownsville or Cameron County.
Silverio Cisneros who is running for Constable Precinct. 2 was out there on four corners in the sun, styling and profiling.
Abel Gomez who is actually Cisnero’s rival and running to get re-elected was also out there by Ruben Torres by the mall doing his thing and getting noticed.
Expect as the days to go by in seeing more signs being put up along businesses and other key traffic areas and many people out in the streets waving at you as they try to support their candidate. Make sure you go out and vote as early voting ends on February 26th with the final day of elections on March 1st.
