Vanessa Tijerina hires heavy hitter Dan Sanchez

Vanessa Tijerina who is currently behind bars after her bond was revoked before Thanksgiving has District Court today to have her bond reinstated and also to attempt that one of her charges (stalking) be quashed.  Tijerina recently failed in her quest to become State Senator after losing against incumbent Eddie Lucio Jr has a string of several court charges that range from stalking, stealing, food stamp fraud, DUI with minor(s), and a list of other charges.

To help with all her current legal cases, she’s hired Dan Sanchez from Brownsville as her new attorney to represent her.  Dan Sanchez is well known throughout Cameron County and happens to be the brother of District Judge David Sanchez.

Well known blogger Jerry Mchale (El Rocinante, Brownsville Blues, The McHale Report) wrote back in May of 2018 the following article.

“Legal ethics is not a high priority in Cameron County. Local attorneys don’t have good barristers, just learn which judges might be receptive to a little greasing of the palm.  For a number of very obvious reasons, Texas judges are prohibited from openly endorsing political candidates.  Judge David Sanchez is openly endorsing candidate Adolfo Cordova as District Court Judge, seems oblivious to the law or is not concerned about its enforcement. ”

In the above photo, District Attorney for Cameron Co. Luis Saenz is seen along with David Sanchez, Adolfo Cordova, and Dan Sanchez.   Tijerina has been represented by a couple of attorneys but has never had an attorney until now with deep connections in the judicial system.  Rumors have already been spreading that there has already been a deal in place to let Tijerina out in time for Christmas.   Tijerina has court later today at 9am,  if we catch her on Facebook live today, then the rumors happened to be true.  We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
