Wild Pepper Tenderloins

{:en}I headed out to my local Popeye’s today to try out their new promotional chicken strips.  I’ve been seeing their promotional poster for a few weeks now and have been keen in trying them. First thing I saw outside the door was a plain paper sign written in marker saying “Credit card machine not working, only cash” I was a little bit bummed but figured that I would try asking . The manager greeted me and asked me what I wanted to order,  “I saw the sign outside, but it says cash only, are you sure it don’t work?” I asked and crossed my fingers.  “Let me check, but it wasn’t working earlier” the manager explained to me why the sign was outside.  The manager went to back and ran a test on my debit card and said “You’re in business.”  I pointed out that I wanted to try the new chicken strips with mashed potatoes and sweet tea and that it was to go.

One thing to note is that this Popeye’s location by my house needs some serious TLC.  Their whole ceiling looks like it’s going to collapse at any moment and when it rains , like it did a couple of months ago, water comes out from the floor so that when you walk you hear a lot of squeaky sounds. I don’t know how the employees at this location can work like that, but as long as my order comes correctly and on time is the only thing I care about. Maybe I should try filling out those questionnaires and let them know the franchise owner needs to like remodel the whole damn building.

Dinner is served.

I got home and put everything on a plate, the mashed potatoes slipped and thus the gravy ended up on the bottom. I only received one Hot Honey Sauce, normally I get two sauces but it looks like they forgot to add.  The chicken strips from Popeye’s are always tasty, crunchy from the outside and juicy and tender from the inside. Quiet honestly the flavor of all the different kinds of chicken strips are the same, the only thing that changes is the sauce that you put on it. I did enjoy the sauce which was a little bit sweet with a hint of hot sauce on it.  The biscuits are always nice and buttery and fluffy.  Normally the sweet tea from Popeye’s is pretty sweet but my tea wasn’t so sweet, maybe they added too much ice.

I suggest everyone to try this if you have a chance, the chicken strips are always good, hopefully you get some good sweet tea at your local Popeye’s.{:}{:es}Fui hoy al Popeye’s mas cercano para probar los nuevos trocitos de pollo que andan promocionando.  He visto por varias semanas los rótulos y he querido probarlos.
