Brownsville, Texas. Chapas Bar. 1o.1o.2o15
The show consisted of the following lineup: Skagaleros( Brownsville, Tx), China Wife Motors (Japan), The Phenomenauts (San Francisco, California), Piñata Protest (San Antonio, Texas), and the main band was Voodoo Glow Skulls (Riverside, California).
Not only did people from Brownsville attended the show, but people from McAllen, Harlingen, Corpus Christi, and even from San Antonio.
The crowd responded with lots of energy to all of the bands.
The Phenomenauts, a rock band that follows the philosophy of Honor and Science, showed up dressed up in star trekesque uniforms, with their own props. They brought loads of fun, and interacted dynamically with the fans by shooting toilet paper with a cyberpunk weapon towards the fans, and then to ceiling. One of the band members even danced in the middle of the pitas the robot.
Following the Phenomenauts, Piñata Protest claimed the stage. The lead singer not only sang, but played a mini trumpet and the accordion. The drummer expressed a lot of energy thru his lucha libre stylized drum set. It was not all about style, but the songs they performed clicked right away with the fans because they sang in Spanish. They performed songs from their latest album called “El Valiente.”
And finally, the main band rocked on Chapas Bar: Voodoo Glow Skulls stepped into the stage. The lead singer performed the first songs wearing a mexican colored Dr Wagner mask. It was so nice to see how they embrace lucha libre culture. Trumpets, trombones, guitars, basses, vocals, and drums were all what they brought an intense show.
