Brownsville mother diagnosed with Leukemia seeks donations.

“You guys, Jackey has leukemia cancer, I feel so bad.” that was the text I received on Thursday from a friend once he found out Jackey was diagnosed.

Dr. Marco Boejackeyk of Texas Oncology diagnosed  Brownsville resident Jackey Resendez  with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The  23-year-old mother of two beautiful  children, ages 2 years and 8 months, and  wife to Rolando Resendez is waiting for a  diagnosis on how far along the cancer is.

Acute myeloid leukemia has many different  names including, acute myelocytic leukemia, acute granulocytic leukemia, and acute non-lymphocytic leukemia.

The “acute” means that it can progress quickly if not treated and would more than likely be fatal in a few months.

The “myeloid” refers to the type of cell this leukemia starts from.

A close friend to the family created a GoFundMe page for Jackey’s medical expenses. Jackey starts Chemo treatment on the 17th of August, reason as to why the asking of donations. She isn’t insured and doesn’t meet the requirements to be covered by Medicaid.

By clicking on this http://www.gofundme.com/JackiesFund, it will take you to her GoFundMe page, any donation helps. $1 per person makes a difference. Thank you for your contributions. If you are unable to donate, keep them in your thoughts or prayers.
